Impromptu Self Critique
Good job tonight. You made a strong effort to apply the techniques and patterns discussed for impromptu speaking tonight. I gave you some feedback. Now it is your turn to comment. Post your self critique here and take into consideration the feedback that you received in class tonight when posting your self critique.

I have to say that this speech was the best one ever. I love to speak like this especially in elevators. The only thing i wish i did different was explain how i love that college and what i can do for it if i was to be hired. Awesome idea for this speech the best one for life directly following life after class. Have a great winter break and NO DRINKING AND DRIVING>>>BE SAFE AND ENJOY!!!!
I liked this speech. I felt I was assertive and kept going after what I wanted, even when I was shot down at first. If I were to do it again, I would address her as principal, rather than asking if she was, which I already knew the answer to. Saying,"You may not remember me but.." Would have been more appropriate than, "Aren't you?.." I had fun with this one, and having my best friend up there with me made me much more comfortable.
I was rather disappointed with the way my speech went. I felt I did well the first 75% of the speech, which was confirmed in the critique I received in class. However, for some reason, I hit a point where my mind when completely blank and it was all downhill from there. Thankfully, my partner rescued me by pulling me out of my awkward silence and carried me through the remainder of the speech. I was disappointed because I truly felt I could’ve done much better had I not screwed up.
Honestly, this speech was very fun. It was great working and getting to know my other partner and their sense of humor. I love to speak to new people and this speech made me even more confident in talking to other people. It's funny how everyone knows everyone so getting your name into a business or anything is extremely good. I knew what I was talking about and the only thing I wish I did was practice more and I have to calm down with always being nervous. Even on the easiest speech I was extremely nervous and lost my words sometimes. I felt comfortable with my partner and hope I did well on this speech.
I thought I did a really good job. This speech was easy compared to all the other ones we did. That was probably because I was up there with my best friend so I was comfortable. I know that at one point though, I said that I was experienced and reliable. Reliable didn't fit into that sentence. I only said it because I heard everyone else bring it in. This speech will definitely help me in the future. The only thing I would really change is the adding of "reliable" to that one sentence. Other than that, I believe this was the best speech I did so far.
I think I did good, not great. I went up in front of class with confidence and sold myself. I could have gave more detail of my past experiences. I also could have given more detail of my children, such as their ages. I feel like this speech was the most beneficial. The informative and persuasive speeches are situations you put yourself in, and the impromptu speech is situation you find yourself in and usually in a casual setting. As usual when I was finished with my speech, I sat down and thought of other things to say and wanted to get up again. This experience has prepared me for future networking situations.
I think that this speech was my best one so far because we are starting to feel comfortable in front of an audience and have practice now. There were some things that I can work on though. I needed to have better support for the reasons why they should listen and chose me. I needed to explain my experience more and show that while I am running a business I can still attend college which shows hard work and multi tasking skills.

I know that what saved me in my speech was that I kept plugging in the past, present and future technique that I learned. It kept me focused on my objective. Otherwise I think I would have done much worse. I do need to work on my finish because it was lacking. In the future I think of all the techniques learned this will be the one that really has a dramatic influence on my life. There are so many networking opportunities out there and I hope to use the skills I have learned to help me land better jobs and to become a more confident person.
I think I would have liked this speech a lot more if I had done it in class, but since I had performance that night and I was unable to make it and I had to video tape it and send it in. It was very awkward feeling, but I got through it. It probably could have gone a little bit better. At first Kelsey began to giggle so I was afraid I was going to too, but I kept it together the entire time. I felt like I babbled a little, but I'm not completely sure since I have not gotten any feedback. This was a great speech to do since this is what we all have to do multiple times in our lives. I did like it even though it was difficult.
I liked this speech a lot. I felt that this speech was an important lesson to learn for life expirences. Everyone needs to learn how to present themselves to complete strangers. I thought that the way i did my speech could have been better, I could have sold myself more. Yet i thought i was very informative about what i was trying to achieve from my partner. In the end the impromtu speech was my favorite speech in class.
